Dear Supporter,
When I first began campaigning in 1996, I did not fully appreciate just how vital supporters like you would be to this fight. A great deal of water has passed under the bridge since then, but one thing has remained constant: without your backing, we would not have the Kent & Canterbury Hospital as it stands today. It would likely have been reduced to a 60-bed cottage hospital. Likewise, QEQM would have lost most of its services to Ashford and Maidstone.
Your support has never been passive. It has meant standing with us through public meetings, tireless advocacy, and even meetings in the Houses of Parliament at three o’clock in the morning. Together, we have protected essential services for our community.
Today, we face another critical challenge: the proposed removal of stroke services from Canterbury, with services being sited in Ashford. Your support in signing the petition has already been invaluable — but this may be only the beginning.
We are now launching a fundraising drive to strengthen our campaign. This fight may involve significant legal costs, and we must be prepared to defend local healthcare services with every tool available to us.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to help us continue this vital work. Every contribution, large or small, will make a real difference in protecting healthcare for our community.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support. Together, we have made a difference before — and together, we can do so again.
With sincere thanks,
Ken rogers
